Tree #21

Again, a spot on the trail we found during last weekend's
visit to the Dilon Nature Center, Hutchinson, KS.
That hike will keep me going for awhile now. 1-21-12

Trees #18, 19, 20

Quick sketch: a viburnum bush in our backyard as seen from our sunroom window, late afternoon, 19 degrees. Started sketching earlier than the past days, but not early enough, and had to quit when it got too dark to see. Sketching from my own life is so much more satisfying. 1-20-12

I confess, NOT what I see every day in the midwest in January.
Wishful thinking? 1-19-12

It was late, dark outside, so I just played around with paint.
Not drawing from observation or experience is not satisfying,
but good practice. 1-18-12

Tree #17

Inspired by one of those trees in Lakeside Park, a few blocks from home.
I again used that Prang watercolor pan from my son's childhood. 1-17-12

Trees #15 & 16

Inspired by a photo I took during our visit to the
Dillon Nature Center, Hutchinson, KS 1-16-12
So far, I've been using a smaill Moleskin.

From my imagination, I guess? 1-15-12
I just used watercolors from a Prang student-grade paint pan
used by my son about 20 years ago.

Day #8 Ready to start Tree #8...

I've been without a computer and scanner since my first tree. We finally got it back from the "PC spa" (where computers go for rest and renewal). Now, all the trees are scanned and I'll get them all posted as soon as I can... But right now, it's back to the "drawing board" to do Tree #8...
